I invite you to sponsor Early Career Bursary. The bursaries provide an opportunity for an eligible applicant to attend the Australian Landscape Conference (ALC) in 2027.
Eligible applicants are relatively new, in their first eight years, to the professions of landscape architecture, garden design, architecture, horticulture, landscape construction or other associated area. The impact of the bursaries goes far beyond attending the ALC event. The opportunity sows a seed and invests in the next generation of professionals.
The Bursary provides a entry to both days of the ALC to eligible early career professionals and full-time (3rd year and beyond) students. The funding makes the ALC a reality for carefully selected recipients who otherwise may not be in a position to attend.
As an ALC enthusiast, you know the conference will have ground-breaking effects on a person’s thinking and future direction. You may be giving the next rising star the headstart they need or retaining someone in the profession who needs a little encouragement.
The ALC is a unique event in Australia. There are only a handful of other conferences throughout the world that gather such a truly international digest of speakers who are experts in their field of landscape and garden design that are similar to the ALC.

Early Career Bursary +
Travel/Accommodation assistance
This Bursary includes a ticket for an eligible early career participant to the ALC27 and $250 towards travel and/or accommodation expenses. This is only offered to recipients who reside outside Victoria.

Logo featured on the official event website including profile, image and contacts. Promotion of the product. This funds two early career participants with details to be explored with sponsor directly.

What is the eligibility criteria for an Early Career Bursary?
Eligibility requirements includes: individuals who have been working in a landscape design related profession for less than eight (8) years. It also includes students who are in their 3rd or 4th year.
Eligible professions include: Landscape Architecture, garden design, architecture, horticulture, landscape construction, ecology or other associated areas.
How many bursaries can I sponsor?
There is no limit on the number of Early Career Bursaries that can be funded.
The cost of sponsoring one person is $690.
Am I able to sponsor someone from a particular region or profession.
Yes. You can sponsor someone from a particular state or region or profession. If this is the case, please note this request on the sponsorship form.
Can I sponsor a particular person?
No. Early career bursary participants are selected from a competitive process where individuals apply using the expression of interest (EoI) process. The applications are assessed by a panel of landscape design professionals.
If you would like to sponsor a particular person, arrangements can be made to do this via the normal registration portal.
What is the selection process?
Early career bursary participants are selected by an expert panel from applications received via an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. The applications are selected against set criteria. The number of bursaries awarded is matched to the number of bursaries sponsored.
Will the successful applicant know who funded the bursary?
Individuals that sponsor bursaries are asked if they would like to remain anonymous or have their name printed in the on-line program and other acknowledgements.
Some individuals and groups sponsor bursaries from specific areas or for a specific reasons ie the intention of the sponsor is for the bursary to be awarded to a person from a specific region who is a gardener. These requests can generally be accommodated.
