Tom’s work initially focussed on historic British landscapes before opening his own practice and he now designs gardens, parks and landscapes throughout the world.

Tom has an international reputation for making gardens that combine naturalism and modernity, creating places of imaginative possibility. Amongst his many accolades, Tom has designed eight award winning gardens for the Chelsea Flower Show, including three Best in Show and he has recently been appointed an OBE for his contribution to landscape architecture. Tom combines an acute understanding of space and structure which enables his designs to converse at many levels to create a greater understanding of the role that gardens can have in accessing meaning and emotion.

“one of the more intellectual designers in the UK.”
